Birla Mandir, a well-known Hindu temple in Hyderabad, is perched on a 13-acre tract on the 280-foot-high mountain Naubath Pahad. Birla Mandir,

It honors Lord Venkateshwara and draws visitors with its stunning architecture and peaceful ambiance. The building project took about ten years to complete, and Swami Ranganathananda of the Ramakrishna Mission dedicated it that same year.

Birla Mandir in Hyderabad is supported by the Birla Foundation, which is well-recognized for building other temples of a similar design throughout the nation.

Things to do at the Birla Mandir:

  • Get stunned by the exterior, which is a fusion of architectural styles:

Birla Temple in Hyderabad is a one-of-a-kind fusion of Dravidian, Rajasthani, and Utkala styles and is made of 2,000 tonnes of pure white marble imported from Rajasthan. While the tower above the main temple, also known as the Jagadananda Vimanam, reflects Oriya architecture, the Rajagopuram depicts the South Indian architectural style. The construction of this temple required the hard labor and devotion of artisans and sculptors for almost ten years.

  • Get mesmerized by the great design and craftsmanship:

An 11-foot (3.4-meter)-tall (granite) statue of Lord Venkateswara at the temple has a lotus flower fashioned into an umbrella on top.

The garbha gudi, which stands 42 feet tall, is a fantastic duplicate of the sanctum sanctorum of the Venkateshwara temple in Tirumala. Additionally, the mandir is home to several shrines honoring various Hindu and Buddhist deities, such as Lord Shiva, Shakti, Brahma, Ganesh, Saraswathi, Hanuman, Lakshmi, and Sai Baba.

Numerous intricately carved marble representations of famous epics, including the Ramayana and Mahabharata, may be found inside the temple.

At nearby independent temples, Padmavati and Andal, Swami Venkateswara's consorts are revered at nearby.

Along with a temple devoted to Buddha and fresco paintings depicting his life, the Birla Mandir complex also comprises other buildings.

  • Rejuvenate your soul in this haven of peace and spirituality:

The kirtans of Tyagaraja, Annamayya, and Ramadasu may be heard resonating in the morning against a backdrop of a clear sky. The temple's ambiance has been designed to be conducive to meditation. Hence there are no bells or traditional chimes.

  • Soak in beautiful vistas from above:

It offers a sweeping view over the twin towns of Hyderabad and Secunderabad and looks out over the waters of Hussain Sagar Lake.
